shit from ST
  1. moon sign
Moon Sign for 19 April 1990 17:00:00 NZST:

    AquariusDegree: 9° 38’
People with the Moon in the same degree

Original, knowledgeable, competent, has strong opinions. Likes freedom, enjoys reading. Hates mediocrity and incompetence.

In many life situations, the Moon in Aquarius people have their own, distinct and sometimes very original opinion, and they are not going to change this opinion no matter what, even if they will be left completely alone. It is very important for these individuals to retain their independence. They don’t want their personal life to be anybody else’s concern.

Often the Moon in Aquarius individuals have some outstanding abilities in one or another field, and they work like a magnet for those people who share their interests. This is why so often they take a central place in the company of like-minded friends. And even there they somehow manage to keep their uniqueness. They are not mixing well with the other people, they are together with them, but still alone.

As a result of their character, quite often the Moon in Aquarius folks can become really alone in their personal life, and their constant urge for independence can lead to chronic emotionall stress. Hence their susceptibility to the disorders of nervous and circulatory systems, as also those unpredictable changes in their mood. There is an impression that at times they are getting tired of themselves, and to get rid of this tiredness they are trying to change abruptly, as if to become a different person.

To restore after a significant stress, the Moon in Aquarius persons need to have a hobby which they could plunge themselves into, forgetting about the surrounding world. It would be really good for them if they could speak out their problems, but this is not so easy, because Lunar Aquarians do not like to just chat with anyone about anything. They prefer dealing with experts in their field of interest - this is with whom they are ready to talk endlessly. And if there is no such a person around, a good book could serve as a replacement for a friend.

The Moon in Aquarius parents can be very original. From the early years they will make clear to their child that everyone’s individuality is precious, and everyone should be independent. As a result, their kids might not be always properly fed or dressed, but they will become self-reliant earlier than their peers, and their talents will develop more successfully.

    What just happened!?

So this is not a popular blog. Not by any means. I have maybe 20 followers, and most of them only follow me because I followed them first, and they were just being polite. And I will admit I have been ignoring Tumblr a bit these days, especially this blog. I have been better with my travel blog but still not great. So imagine my surprise when I log on today to find a group of new followers! Like, probably about 5 of them! I’m pretty much totally amazing, and I was on the point of giving up on this blog, coz I didn’t like where it was going, and it wasn’t really achieving anything anyways… but now I have more followers, and I need to decide if this changes things…

Either way, there will be some changes, hopefully I will clean up some stuff, make the place a little less cluttered and what not.

But maybe I’ll stick around a little longer…

I remember telling a few friends ” I learned a lot in Malaysia but I am really happy to go home and I don’t I will miss here very much”….When we dropped Tomomi Miura and other Japanese friends off at the airport, I knew I made a mistake. Then I wished I could spend even one more day or even an hour with the new friends I made in Malaysia.

Friends I laughed with, cried with, agreed with, fought with, danced with and sang with. This is to EVERYONE I had the honour of meeting in Malaysia. It doesn’t matter if we didn’t get along or if we always fought with one another. You all and God made me the better person I can be. I have a long way to go but thank you because your amazing and it breaks my heart that I may not ever see some of you again.

Thank you and if I had the bravery, your numbers and credit on my phone I would call you and tell you. XP

Thank you and I will never truly forget you.

Thank you and I really do love you.

talking to one of my exchange students who is leaving her host country in a few hours, and i told her to go and make the last of her last 2 hours before going to the airport. it makes me think, she has been away for a year now, so those last 2 hours should seem like nothing in comparison, but they will be some of the most important minutes of her whole exchange. everything she has just been through will be starting to really sink in, she will be realising what big things she has achieved, learnt about herself and the world, and she will be holding on as tightly as possible to these last few moments. Maybe it wasn’t all smooth sailing; every exchange has its ups and downs, but its the end result that counts. When the student gets to the end of their exchange and can say that they had an awesome experience, despite all the hiccups along the way, then that makes me feel like I have been successful. Their exchange was a success, they learnt from it, they’ve grown from it, and they appreciate it. This is all I want :D

^thats my main message, but now I’m going to blabber a bit.

To be honest, I feel like it is the students that have it the hardest during their exchanges that learn the most from their experiences. Very few students don’t have problems come up during their time away, and I know that every single exchange student learns something during their exchange, but I feel it is those who struggle the most that come away with the richest experiences. They had times where they hated everything: their host country, their host families, the exchange organisation, their support people, strangers in the street, and probably even me. But they got through that, they pulled themselves out of that pool of despair and rose above it, and became better people because of it. And when I see how grateful for their experiences they are at the end of the year, it gives me warm fuzzies like nothing else.

There was one student earlier this year who looked at risk of being sent home. Now, six months later, he is posting on facebook about how much he loves NZ, and how thankful he is to AFS for this opportunity. Its a total turnaround, and while things were a bit shit for a while, it turned out good in the end, and he is going home with a smile on his face, and good memories. It makes me love my job.

now to figure out a way to get paid for it… :P

Advice from one of my favourite authors.

emilys-space:

So here I am in Germany. I have been here just over 3 weeks, and for the most part, I am having the time of my life. Only, it would appear that as hard as we may try, it’s impossible to escape our troubles. I may be in denial about it, but I’m still the same person I was back in Dunedin, just now…
